The Silverlight Tour Workshop is a four-day course on Silverlight 5. It divides
the content into three distinct areas: Design, Development and the Server-Side.
Students should be able to develop Silverlight applications once attending the
workshop. The Workshop is structured with a mix of didactic lessons, demonstrations
and hands-on labs. Each student will leave the workshop having created several small
Silverlight applications. This variety of learning techniques will ensure that
all students become proficient in the technology quickly and in an exciting way.
Silverlight is about building Internet applications so experience building web applications
is encouraged. In addition, since Silverlight utilizes .NET to build online experiences,
familiarity with .NET is suggested. No specific experience with WPF or XAML is necessary.

Testimonials
The Silverlight Tour is definitely one of the best courses I have ever attended and I would highly recommend it for both beginners and more advanced Silverlight developers. The course was well prepared, with a good balance of theory/examples/labs. The instructor was very knowledgeable and was able to clearly present the course materials. It was well worth the time and money. Thanks.
Sharon Arnold - Viterra
The Silverlight Tour had the most comprehensive course outline on Silverlight I could find anywhere. The instructor was knowledgeable and communicated that knowledge well. It had exactly the right amount of hands on labs where together we built a small RIA. I would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone. Keep up the great work!
Gary Brasco - Viterra
As a GIS (Geographic Information System) professional, I am new to Silverlight technology. In fact, Silverlight is relatively new to the entire GIS industry thus not many web-based mapping applications use Silverlight instead of WebADF, ArcIMS, Javascript or Flash. The Silverlight Tour training is well organized and very beneficial. The instructor is knowledgeable, amiable, and articulate in explaining and answering questions. I enjoy the Silverlight Tour training session and look forward to utilizing more potential of Silverlight in web-based mapping applications.
Kevin Wang - District of West Kelowna
The training was very benificial. It was well prepared with lots of pertinent examples, tips and good practices. The trainer is knowledgeable, technical and has a great way to communicate the information clearly. Highly recommanded for beginners and advanced Silverlight developers.
Marlen Koulayan - EteleSolv
Thank you for the very useful explanations on Silverlight technology and the Telerik controls. I am sure this course will give us extra power to improve the functionalities and build better RIA applications for our customers.
Vitaliy Yavlensky - Aerosystems International (ASI)
Great tool and great teacher I got from everyone in our recent class. Laurent was extremely knowledgeable and very professional with a good hands-on training he has provided us a lot of examples to give us a strong foundation in developing Silverlight applications. It will help get our implementation off to a great start.
I would recommend this course as a must in starting developing Silverlight applications.

I started dabbling in Silverlight since about a year ago. Silverlight is obviously a technology that has a lot of potential. I needed a deeper understanding of Silverlight and was prepared to attend any formal course on the subject. When I leaned that the Silverlight Tour was coming to Vancouver I jumped at the opportunity. Not only did I get out of the course what I wanted, it also was a lot of fun. Obviously, the trainer was well organized and very knowledgeable about Silverlight.
Medhat Elmasry, Vancouver Silverlight User Group Leader
The instructor was not only very well prepared for teaching the Silverlight course, he was also very knowledgeable with deep technical knowledge AND experience in the subject area. He provided numerious examples showing working code, and explaining each of them as to how and why they were working. He also provided clear yet concise course notes. Combined with the working examples, this course was well worth the money as well as the time! Great work.
Richard Reukema
As someone who has been building production websites with Silverlight since SL2, I was happy for the chance to get a quick start on Silverlight 4, so I signed up for this course. Laurent was a great presenter, the class was awesome, we had a lot of "Fun" code, and I picked up some ideas that I plan to test in my production sites. I recommend this course to anyone wanting to get into Silverlight.
Helen Warn, PhD - www.agile-soft.com
To have followed Silverlight from the beginning, I can confirme that this training provide pertinant information for beginners as well as more advanced developers. Code samples are very effective in order to learn to control most of the technology. So if you want to have a strong foundation for developing with Silverlight, Silverlight Tour is a must.
Louis-Philippe Pinsonneault
Thanks for the course. I am glad I took it. There were some "gaps" in my Silverlight knowledge that you addressed and I feel much more confident now.
